About Us

Guided Careers help individuals discover clarity—about who they are, what truly motivates them, and where they want to go. At the heart of our approach is a structured yet deeply personal counselling process that focuses on self-awareness. Through in-depth assessments, thoughtful conversations, and practical guidance, we help individuals identify their strengths, interests, gaps, and long-term aspirations. This clarity enables students and professionals to make informed, confident decisions about career pathways, educational choices, and essential skill development aligned with real-world opportunities.

Our work goes beyond conventional career counselling. Guided Careers is about empowerment—helping individuals take ownership of their decisions and move forward with confidence, purpose, and direction. We support clients not only in choosing careers, but in building meaningful and sustainable professional lives.

As we look to the future, our vision is to establish Guided Careers as a trusted and credible career development brand. Over the next five years, we aim to strengthen our counselling practice by integrating data-driven tools, expanding our online and offline presence, and continuously refining our methodologies. By staying closely connected to evolving education systems, industry trends, and hiring patterns, we ensure our guidance remains relevant and future-focused.

Ultimately, Guided Careers is a partnership in growth—standing beside individuals at every stage of their journey, with insight, integrity, and a genuine commitment to their success.

About The Counsellor

Lekha P

I am Lekha P, the founder of Guided Careers, and I bring over 17 years of diverse corporate experience into my journey as a career counsellor. While I am formally stepping into the counselling space now, mentoring and guiding people has always been a natural part of my professional life. Across roles and organisations, colleagues and team members consistently approached me for clarity, reassurance, and direction. It was during my time as a Team Leader at Northern Trust that I clearly recognised my passion for helping individuals understand their strengths, make confident decisions, and grow with purpose. This transition from leadership to guidance became the foundation of Guided Careers.

In my current role, I have led a team and managed key client relationships with Irish investors, and oversee end-to-end processes including onboarding, training, performance management, and quality control. Balancing high standards of delivery with people development has always been central to my leadership approach, and this was well recognised. These experiences reinforced my belief that sustainable success is built through clarity, structure, and the right support systems.

Previously, at AXA Business Services Ltd, I managed complex insurance accounts and handled sensitive death claims for U.S.-based clients. This role demanded precision, discretion, and empathy, strengthening my attention to detail and compassionate communication. My exposure across financial services, client operations, and leadership has shaped a strong analytical mindset balanced with emotional intelligence.

My academic foundation in Business Management, a Professional Certificate in International Investment Fund Services from the National University of Ireland, along with certifications from Univariety in collaboration with UCLA Extension and as a Certified Psychometric Counsellor through Guruskoolz, equip me with evidence-based tools and structured assessment techniques.

At Guided Careers, I combine accountability with empathy to help students and young professionals gain clarity, build confidence, and bridge the gap between potential and performance with long-term direction.

Why Career Counselling Matters

I believe career counselling is not a one-time decision-making exercise—it is a process that shapes how individuals think about their future, their strengths, and their long-term growth. Over the years, I have observed that many people experience career drift. They move from one option to another, becoming “jack of all trades,” not because they lack ability, but because of indecision, external pressure, or unclear direction. Career counselling helps bring focus. It allows individuals to channel their time, energy, and effort into a path that aligns with who they are and where they want to go, rather than reacting to trends or opinions around them.

Another critical reason counselling is essential is informed decision-making. Too often, students and professionals make impulsive choices based on limited information, peer influence, or short-term outcomes. Through structured guidance, I help individuals understand industry realities, emerging roles, required skills, and long-term growth opportunities. This clarity enables them to make decisions rooted in awareness, not assumptions.

Career counselling also plays a powerful role in building confidence early. Uncertainty about the future can lead to anxiety, self-doubt, and hesitation. When individuals are equipped with the right tools, insights, and a clear action plan, their confidence naturally grows. They begin to trust their choices and take ownership of their journey instead of constantly seeking validation.

Most importantly, the impact of career counselling is lifelong. When guidance is aligned with a person’s values, interests, and long-term goals, it creates a strong foundation for sustained satisfaction and success. I strongly believe that early, thoughtful counselling leads to careers that are meaningful and resilient—not just driven by short-term wins, but built for long-term fulfilment and growth.
